Missions Ministries
Mission involvement is important
at The Mount and is a serious call in the life of each
believer. Using Acts 1:8 as a model, we are becoming a
worldwide mission center guided by the following;
-
Prioritizing missions and
providing mission leadership
-
Praying for missions,
missionaries and the unreached peoples of the world
-
Providing mission education,
information, events and displays
-
Promoting mission giving that is
strategic and comprehensive
-
Participating in strategic mission
projects
-
Producing trained and equipped
missionaries for today and tomorrow
-
Personalizing missions by building
strategic relationships with missionaries
-
Partnering in missions through adoption of
unreached people groups
Community
outreach includes Angel Tree, MPBC Food Pantry, Soup Kitchen and Pregnancy
Support Center of the Tri Cities.
We are partnering with the SBCV in planting a
church in Washington, DC, as part of our commonwealth strategy.
In our country we are partnering with East
Howard Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS, to help with reconstruction of their
facility and Hurricane Katrina relief. We continue our partnership with the
Appalachia region and we’re developing a partnership in NY. Our disaster
relief team is active and responds to needs around the world.
Major
emphasis in the continents is on our adoption of unreached people
groups in South America and Southeast Asia. While these are long term
commitments, we maintain projects in Guatemala, England, Thailand and
elsewhere.
